As if to put the cherry on top of the merging of UFO culture and MAGA culture, Elon Musk went on Tucker Carlson a couple weeks ago to talk about UFOs. (Why have these two Venn diagrams become a single circle? The best explanation I’ve got is that they are both rooted in the same belief in a Deep State that keeps the Truth suppressed.)
Noting that none of his 6,000 Starlink satellites have ever had to maneuver around an alien spacecraft, Musk speculated that UFOs are not aliens, but rather classified US weapons programs.
I seem to be in the minority here, but I say secret military hardware is among the very worst explanations for UFOs.
When we do identify a UFO, we’re able to do it by matching the UFO’s characteristics with those of the known object. For example, mylar party balloons are responsible for more and more UFO reports, and we do this by matching their characteristics. They float with the wind; they are silvery and reflective; often they are even in the shape of a known character or letter or number. Those are characteristics that match, allowing us to make the identification.
What characteristics does a secret military aircraft have?
Well, if it’s secret, of course we don’t know much about it. But there are at least two characteristics that every secret military aircraft has had, and that we have every reason to believe all future secret military aircraft will have:
They are almost never flaunted over populated areas where everyone can get good iPhone video of them. When they’re secret, they’re at secure test sites like Area 51, or they’re flown at night with no lights, as we do with the B-2 and RQ-180 stealth aircraft.
They are aircraft, so their flight capabilities are in the same ballpark as other aircraft.
So if you see a light in the sky at night, weaving and changing directions and doing crazy things; you can rest assured that it’s not an aircraft, because such movements are not within an aircraft’s performance envelope. And you saw a light, so you can rest assured it’s not a classified military vehicle.
We can rule out foreign drones or weapons systems by the same logic.
Here is a 3.5-minute clip from The UFO Movie where I made this point to the best of my ability. But, I have no doubt that people will continue trotting out secret military aircraft as their #1 go-to explanation for anything weird doing something aircraft don’t do.
You make excellent points Brian. Keep up the good work!
I continue to be amazed at the not-necessarily-overlapping Venn diagrams for Wealth, Intelligence, Vision, Common Sense, and Human Decency. Can't Space-X relocate to an area with a lithium-rich water table?
