Exactly what "miracles" are attributed to Carlo Acutis, the Millennial Saint?
The latest case of exploiting a tragedy for marketing purposes
News from the Catholic Church child-rape cartel is that Carlo Acutis, an Italian teen who died in 2006 from leukemia, is being made a saint. The news always credits him with being a talented web designer, as if the only explanation for a teen’s ability to do such a complicated thing is that he must be a saint. Unfortunately, the popular media is being a willing pawn in this obvious marketing exploitation, when they should be calling the cartel out for it.
Here is the website he made, which is a list of miracles with an article and photos for each. It’s a very early-2000s website, but give him a break, that’s when he made it. That he died at such a young age is a pretty sad thing, horrible for his family and friends.
Is making him a saint a nice way to memorialize him? No. It’s a way to exploit his tragic death.
