By now you’ve probably heard that we’re just entering the period when the sun’s magnetic poles reverse, a process that happens every 11 years and takes up to a few years to complete. The sun spends roughly 20% of its time in this turbulent period, so we understand very well that it doesn’t impact us and that it’s not the unprecedented world-ending catastrophe that alternative wooists typically make of major celestial events.
When Space.com ran an article 10 days ago discussing this — really a “Slow news day; what can we make noise about?” kind of article — the fallout from the Internet’s dark underbelly was different than normal… weirdly, surrealistically different.
