Australia’s Bent Spoon Award is given each year to the Australian “perpetrator of the most preposterous piece of paranormal or pseudoscientific piffle.” This year it went to — drum roll please — a formerly highly respected investigative journalist, winner of many awards over his long and enviable career, but who has spent the past couple of years pivoting to full-blown alien visitation advocacy.
