Insane religious mom on TikTok teaches her daughter that education is all a lie

Courtesy of “Mrs. Alabama” on TikTok, we have this video:
This child has been taught, for real, by her whackadoodle mom that the Earth is flat, because Jesus. And also a lot of other bullshit, like NASA translates to “deceive” in Hebrew. Because Jews are also in on the evil plan, I guess. No surprise she’s teaching her daughter to be racist as well as proudly ignorant.
As we know, Flat Earth belief began with Biblical literalists in the 1800s. It died in the latter half of the 20th century when photographic proof from space was presented (as if it had even been needed). Then, Flat Earthers arose anew in 2014 as part of the modern conspiracy theory movement. And now, a mere decade later, Mrs. Alabama illustrates how it’s coming back full circle as Biblical literalists are again embracing the rejection of most sciences in favor of their bizarre misinterpretations of the Bible.
I don’t know what this little girl’s future holds. It seems that school is not going to go well for her, as she rolls her eyes and laughs at some of the basics they were taught today. She knows from her mom’s lunacy that countless observable facts are wrong and that this wackiness her mom subscribes to is right.
The sad thing is that the Bible doesn’t even say the Earth is flat. You have to come at it with that as your preconceived conclusion, and then distort these few verses to shoehorn them into that. So Mrs. Alabama isn’t even teaching her daughter the Bible. She’s teaching her to ignore what can be learned, and to embrace instead whatever you prefer to believe, and to do so despite proven contradictions. Maybe that works for some people. It can’t work for most. It probably won’t work for her daughter.
I wonder what this girl’s college experience will be — assuming her nutty mom lets her go, and doesn’t require her to marry instead. She’ll have a painful decision to make: she’s either going to face ridicule and fail out of everything, or she’ll have to come to the realization that her mom is utter bonkers and filled her head with bullshit her whole life. Those are both terrible options for a kid to be saddled with.
I call it child abuse.
Brings to mind the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail where Sir Bedevere the Wise, with calm assurance, walks the townsfolk through the chain of logical inferences to prove that the proper method of determining if a woman is a witch is to see if she weighs the same as a duck.
That poor young lady, she is in for a rude awakening. Unfortuntly probably destined to marry at 16 as Christian breeding stock.
